Craig Watson joined Svella Connect over a year ago as part of a reinstatement team which Tarmacs roads and footways after completion of the digging gangs.
In December last year he got an opportunity to move into the traffic management team, a move that’s he’s really enjoyed and explains that working at Svella Connect is the most enjoyable workplace in what’s been a very interesting career to date.
“I was a professional groundsman at Nottingham Forrest FC for 12 years, which was an enjoyable job and taught me about attention to detail,” said Craig. “Then I had a brief spell as a prison officer before joining Svella Connect.
“I really enjoy it here, especially in my new role as a traffic management operative. It has allowed me to expand my skills and knowledge around streetworks and signage.
“The company has recently invested in seven sets of our own traffic lights, so initially I was tasked with overseeing those when they came in and setting them up with trailers and signs so they could be sent out to our teams.”
Outside of work, Craig has been a club DJ for around 20 years and enjoys watching football with his three boys.
