Dan Collects Openreach Award For Delivery Performance & Training Accreditation

Svella Connect Senior Operations Manager Dan Underwood has won an award from Openreach for his and his team’s work in helping to deliver a high-quality sustainable fibre network to millions of homes.

Dan was singled out by Openreach for praise for spearheading a 52% increase in delivery and building an accredited training school.

He was presented with the award at the end of an Openreach partner management event involving 300 people in Birmingham.

The training school, accredited by Openreach on its first assessment, enables Svella Connect to train and develop both colleagues and external contractors. Not only does this increase Svella Connect’s level of compliance, it also gives it and its clients the peace of mind that it is ensuring a high-quality build and maintaining its infrastructure legacy.

Dan said: “It was nice to get recognition – but there are 20 people in my team and they are the ones who really made this happen. They are the ones who drive our build partners to meet targets, focus on safety and point out potential risks.”

Dan took part in the forum alongside Svella Connect Safety & Risk Director Stephen Woolf.

Stephen said: “It was a fantastic achievement for Dan to receive this award and exactly the sort of thing we should be celebrating.

“He couldn’t have done it without the support and hard work of his team to increase our delivery capabilities and this is much-deserved recognition for them all.

“It is great to get recognition from one of our build clients, whose feedback is that we are doing a great job. It’s great to have people like Dan and his team who are stepping up and going the extra mile to get things done. That is great news for everyone in the business.”
