Chris Kingaby is a Cable Supervisor involved in the Virgin Media Morpheus project in the East Midlands. His responsibilities include the delivery of toolbox talks and flash safety alerts issued by QESH to all field engineers, and completing gang performance audits, as well as ensuring a high quality of work standards in line with client specifications and general tooling/PPE/safety equipment checks.
Chris is the first point of contact for on-site engineers whenever they hit a problem, and as
ERS manager for the East Midlands he will take any emergency call outs and organise the resources required to fix faults which may arise in the business fibre network.
Prior to joining Svella Connect, he worked for six years on Virgin Media contracts through different contract partners, where his responsibilities included surveying, SME cabling and installs, FTTP installs and MLE complex fibre pulls and installs.
Chris’s twin passions are carp fishing and Manchester United – and he is often accompanied on the riverbank or in the stands at Old Trafford by his two young sons. He plays five-a-side once a week but is also an FA level 1 coach for Long Eaton United FC, where one of his lads plays.
“My job is full of variety, giving me the opportunity to be in the field meeting new people and working closely with the engineers while providing plenty of time in the office to complete administration work. Although Svella Connect is a new company, we have already come a long way.”
