Svella Connect Achieves CHAS Elite Health & Safety Accreditation

Acknowledging its continued efforts in pursuing the highest levels of operational safety, Svella Connect has achieved Elite level status in the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) accreditation.

It’s a rigorous process, involving an independent audit of a company's health and safety policies, procedures and practices – and accreditation further demonstrating Svella Connect’s commitment to the highest standards of health and safety excellence in the workplace.

Safety and Risk Director, Gary Thistlethwaite, has been instrumental in driving the company through the audit process, ensuring that all aspects of the company's health and safety management system were fully compliant with CHAS Elite standards.

He said: “As a company, we take health and safety very seriously, and this accreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Svella Connect and the latest in a line of health and safety accreditations.

“It demonstrates our commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, subcontractors and clients.”

Compliance with CHAS standards means Svella Connect is confident that its health and safety management system is effective, reducing the risk of accidents and incidents on site.

It also provides assurance to clients and stakeholders that the company is a responsible and trustworthy contractor, capable of delivering projects safely and efficiently.

But according to commercial director Gareth Hughes, the accreditation is also a valuable asset from a supply chain perspective.

“Many of our clients require CHAS accreditation as a pre-requisite for working with them,” he said. “By achieving this accreditation, we can demonstrate our commitment to health and safety, which gives our clients confidence in our ability to deliver projects safely and professionally.

“It also opens up new opportunities for us to work with clients who require CHAS accreditation as part of their procurement process.”

CHAS accreditation is recognised by a wide range of organisations across the construction and civil engineering industries, including major contractors, local authorities and government agencies.

It’s seen as a mark of quality and excellence in health and safety management, providing assurance to clients and stakeholders that a contractor is capable of delivering projects safely and efficiently.

As the company continues to grow and expand its services, the CHAS accreditation will be a valuable asset, helping to open up new commercial opportunities and demonstrate Svella Connect's commitment to health and safety excellence.
